Greetings fellow gardeners!
March is upon us and hints of warmer weather are
sneaking in. Many of us have started a few seeds indoors
already with our hearts warmed by the little green
leaves popping up from the earth. If you want to start
something inside now, try planting some tomato seeds!
They are easy to grow and delicious to eat!
The last Garden Club meeting was February 15th at the
Community Hall. Seeds were exchanged and discussed
during our annual Seedy Monday Seed Exchange. Following
that, members were treated to popcorn and a movie, “The
Private Life of Plants”.
Our next meeting is March 15th at 6:30pm at the
Community Hall and will be a pizza and craft night.
Pizza is being supplied by the Evergreen Community
Association and the craft will be supplied by the Garden
Club.
Members will be making 2 stepping stones and are asked
to bring any interesting cement forms or decorations
they would like to include in their stones. There will
be forms and decorations available as well, but if you
have something special you would like to use, please
bring it!
Our April meeting is the much-anticipated Kuhlmann’s
container planting session where we get the run of
Kuhlmann’s to plant any container we have with whatever
plants we want, and they take care of it for us until
the end of May! This is included in your $10 annual
membership to the Garden Club! Do you really need a
better reason to join us? How about a group of
approximately 30 gardeners in Evergreen for you to meet
with and steal perennials and ideas from? |
